The National Theatre
Restoration of the Lasdun window
The National Theatre, Upper Ground, Bishop's, SE1 9PX
The Royal National Theatre is a Grade II* listed theatre complex, designed in 1969-76 by Sir Denys Lasdun and comprised the then radical use of mass concrete.
Between 2007 and 2015, the theatre underwent a major refurbishment including significant enhancements to the theatre’s public spaces including its restaurant, where the original full-height window (the ‘Lasdun window’) offering an overview of the River Thames were retained and refurbished.
In 2013, Heritage of London Trust funded the restoration of the Lasdun window.
